Ship Technical Condition Inspections
We carry out inspections to ascertain the overall condition of a vessel – hull, machinery, equipment, safety and security measures, management systems and certification are all inspected. This will not only give the owner/operator a basis for repair or dry dock specifications but will also highlight any issues before Port State Control Inspections.
Pre-Sire inspections to ensure compliance with Oil Major requirements.
A pre-vetting inspection can help minimise or even eliminate the risk of negative observations during a OCIMF SIRE vetting, thus maintaining a low observation score in the database.
During a pre-vetting inspection we visit the vessel and perform an in-depth inspection covering all areas on board in relation to the SIRE vetting programme with special focus on the Vessel Inspection Questionnaire (VIQ) in order to prepare the vessel for an upcoming vetting. We focus on the human element to ensure that a full understanding by the officers and crew is present, without this a vetting inspection will likely incur negative comments.
The overall objective is to identify any deficiencies which, according to the inspector’s experience, are likely to cause a negative response during a SIRE vetting.
The owner/operator is provided with a detailed report with recommendations after completion of the pre-vetting inspection. The Master is provided with a summary and guidance prior to the inspector leaving the vessel. If required our consultants can remain on board the vessel during the actual SIRE inspection to assist the Master, Officers and Crew.
CCIS can conduct hull thickness testing to Classification Society requirements.
